Our Team
Design Matters
Our small yet efficient team cherish design and the impact good design has on people’s lives. We are honored to be the keepers of our client’s visions. It’s what gets us up in the morning and sometimes what keeps us up at night.
Founder / Principal Architect
Patrick Ousey, AIA
My philosophy is to be an extension of our clients. To provide them with the best solutions for the project while balancing their needs, wants and desires.
When Patrick was young, he would tell his mother he wanted to be a doctor in the morning and an artist in the afternoon. A balance of science and creative. When he met an architect at age 12, he discovered a career where he could do both. After graduating from the University of Texas School of Architecture, Patrick started his career working for several small design firms in Los Angeles - first interning for Charles Moore’s firm at Moore, Rubel, Yudell and then really cutting his teeth at Schweitzer BIM for 7 years. Upon his return to Austin, he worked for Dick Clark Architecture where he grew the firm from 3 people to 15 in just 3 short years. He founded FAB in the Fall of 1996.
As Founder and Principal Architect at FAB, Patrick’s primary role is the firm’s design director - creating an overall vision for each project and then working closely with his team and clients to develop that vision. Working alongside his wife and partner Pam, FAB has received countless awards and recognitions for their work. FAB has featured 9 homes on the AIA Homes Tours in both San Antonio and Austin and their work has been published across the country and internationally. But beyond the recognition, his greatest reward is when his clients realize that all the hard work, planning and craft that has been put into their project on their behalf is truly what they desired.
Principal Architect
Pam Chandler, AIA
I love getting into the details and material palette of a project. The things that define the soul of a project – the more nuanced, the more exciting they are to me.
While studying interior design at The University of Texas, Pam took her first design class at the prestigious School of Architecture and once there, she found her tribe. After graduating with her Bachelor’s of Architecture, she worked in Los Angeles for 7 years. While in William Adam’s office, she experienced the honor of having her first project as project manager highlighted on the cover of Architectural Record. From there, she made her way back home to Austin and worked with Paul Lamb for three years - an invaluable experience with an architect she still holds in the highest regard.
She’s been a Principal Architect at FAB since 1998 and along with her husband and partner Patrick, has created award-winning residential and commercial projects in Austin and across the state of Texas. To be part of the architecture community in Austin and help shape the visual landscape of this vibrant and evolving city is both a great privilege and responsibility and one that she is grateful for every day. When Pam is not working, she loves traveling and spending time with her family - ideally these happen at the same time. Her perfect travel experience is when she is able to commune with nature and then experience a dynamic cultural / urban environment – the yin + yang of inspiration.

Project Manager
Nick Foxx
Nick Foxx joined the FAB team in 2024 after earning his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas and working for several years in Austin’s design community. His approach to architecture is shaped by both academic rigor and international perspective, including extensive travel and time spent studying abroad in Austria. These experiences continue to inform his interest in imagining new possibilities through design.
Originally from Tennessee, Nick views architecture as a way to ask what if—a chance to reimagine the everyday and propose more thoughtful, intentional ways of living. He often finds inspiration in the Smoky Mountains, where time spent hiking and visiting family helps him recharge and reconnect with the natural world.
Nick is an avid reader of fantasy novels, a concertgoer, and a vinyl collector. On quieter nights, you’ll find him at home with his cat, working on creative side projects that blend storytelling, design, and a love of the unexpected.
Designer
Kellie Taylor
Originally from West Texas, Kellie Taylor graduated from the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture in 2024, where she developed a strong foundation in both design philosophy and technical skills. During her studies, she interned at the office of ADEPT, a multidisciplinary design firm in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she gained valuable experience and broadened her architectural perspective.
Kellie’s passion for creating spaces began in childhood, when she would construct scenes from her favorite books—often imagining and designing the settings left unwritten. That early creativity has grown into a thoughtful, human-centered design approach that emphasizes empathy, storytelling, and spatial experience.
Beyond the studio, Kellie draws inspiration from the outdoors. Whether she’s playing sports, exploring nature, or reading under the open sky, she finds that time outside fuels her creativity and deepens her connection to the environments she designs.
They are up for tackling any challenge with a smile, and I truly feel like they are our advocates every step of the way. They have helped us with decision-making, processes, and hiring other professionals. In addition to being generally great people, they are very talented, experienced and detail-oriented. The team has always graciously taken our input and done a fantastic job of synthesizing creative, realistic solutions. - client
